 Can EyeTV Hybrid receive HDTV from cable or satellite?
Solution EyeTV Hybrid (2007 model) cannot receive HDTV signals from cable or satellite.

It cannot receive digital signals from a cable box or satellite receiver.

It cannot receive HDTV signals from a cable box, satellite receiver, or any other external tuner.

In North America, it can receive HDTV signals from digital antenna, and only digital antenna.

EyeTV Hybrid (2008, 2009, 2010 model) can also receive HDTV from unencrypted digital cable (Clear QAM) in North America.

You can use EyeTV Hybrid with a cable box or satellite receiver, only by attaching the analog outputs from that receiver (composite or S-Video) to the analog inputs of EyeTV Hybrid. The signal you see will be SDTV (720 by 480) and not HDTV.

To change channels on a cable box or satellite receiver, you must use the remote control for that receiver. EyeTV cannot control external receivers at this time - it cannot change channels automatically when using an external receiver.
