EyeTV 3.1.1 and Turbo.264 - Exports without sound
EyeTV 3.1.1 and Turbo.264 - Exports without sound
Solution
Recently, Turbo.264 1.3.1b19 was released - it is beta software that can help with some Apple TV export issues.
This build works fine with EyeTV 3.1, but does not work well with EyeTV 3.1.1 - exports using Turbo.264 made directly from EyeTV will not have sound.
Very rarely, Turbo.264 1.3 users may also see this problem.
Turbo.264 HD is not affected - it will work fine with EyeTV 3.1.1.
There are two separate solutions you can try, depending on your needs:
1) Downgrade to EyeTV 3.1, and continue to use the Turbo.264 1.3.1 beta.
Solution:
While EyeTV 3 is running, you can enter an URL into a web browser, that will force EyeTV to download a specific version.
EyeTV 3.1
eyetv://checkforupdates?build=4515
This will download the latest version of EyeTV 3.1 (build 4515)

2) Downgrade to Turbo.264 1.3, and continue to use EyeTV 3.1.1
Solution:
If you still want to use Turbo.264 1.3 with EyeTV 3.1.1, this workaround may help:
1) Quit EyeTV 3.1.1.
2) Quit your Turbo.264 application, and unplug the Turbo.264 hardware.
3) Open your hard drive, and locate the Library/QuickTime folder
4) Find and erase the
Elgato Turbo.component
file - if this file is made by Turbo.264 1.3.1 beta software, then it won't work with EyeTV 3.1.1
5) Restart your Mac.
6) Relaunch Turbo.264 1.3 and plug in the Turbo.264 hardware. The older Turbo.264 1.3 component should be installed automatically, and Turbo.264 should produce sound again with EyeTV 3.1.1
If you need Turbo.264 1.3, then you can download it here:

We apologize for any inconvenience this unusual problem may cause.
We'll update Turbo.264 software soon, perhaps via a new beta, to resolve this problem.
Beyond that, we are planning another non-beta Turbo.264 update, to address as many remaining issues as possible. That update will be independent of any Turbo.264 HD development.
If you are upgrading from Turbo.264 to Turbo.264 HD, or are only using Turbo.264 1.3, and notice a sound issue, then make sure to try scenario #2 (above) to erase the older Turbo.264 QuickTime component.
