How do I update EyeTV to work with OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard?
Solution Depending on what version of EyeTV 3 you have installed, you may have problems after updating to OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.  The solution is to download newer software, available via this article.

EyeTV 3.0.4 And Below

EyeTV Versions 3.0.4 and below are not compatible with Snow Leopard.  You will have problems launching EyeTV 3 after updating to OS X 10.6.

Please update to the latest EyeTV version (3.1.2 or higher) before upgrading to Snow Leopard.

If you have already upgraded to Snow Leopard, and are not able to launch EyeTV in order to update, then you can try these steps:

1) Unplug your EyeTV hardware from your Mac.
2) Find your EyeTV application on your hard drive - it may be in the Applications folder.
3) While pressing the Control key on your keyboard, click on the EyeTV application, and select "Show Package Contents".
4) Open the Contents folder.
5) Open the MacOS folder.
6) Double-click on the special "EyeTV" icon in the MacOS folder.
7) After EyeTV launches, use the Check For Updates command from the EyeTV menu.
8) Update to the latest available version.

EyeTV 3.1 To 3.1.2

EyeTV Versions 3.1 to 3.1.2 are mostly compatible with Snow Leopard.  You may have problems with some features after updating to OS X 10.6.

Two known issues with EyeTV 3.1.2 and Snow Leopard:

• EyeTV 3.1.2 and digital audio output does not work.

• EyeTV 3.1.2: EyeTV Sharing does not work, the EyeConnect component crashes at start.

Update to EyeTV 3.2.1 to resolve these issues.

EyeTV 3.2

EyeTV 3.2 is fully Snow Leopard compatible.

TitanTV Users Upgrading To TV Guide

Users updating from older versions of EyeTV to 3.1.2 or 3.2 may find that they need to use Clear EPG Database.  See this article:

My Program Guide won't update when using EyeTV 3.1.x

This is because the older TitanTV database is not fully compatible with the new TV Guide database.

Signs that this will be needed are a blank Program Guide after update, even though the EyeTV Preferences > Guide section says the account is active. Another sign is that the guide update fails to a "server error" - the actual problem is with the database on your Mac.

In both cases, the Clear EPG Database command should solve that particular problem.
