How does EyeTV Lite compare to EyeTV?
Solution EyeTV Lite is a special version of EyeTV software that comes bundled with some EyeTV compatible hardware.

It has the basic features that any EyeTV user would need, including watching, scheduling and recording TV.

Instead of having separate windows for each function of EyeTV, EyeTV Lite combines everything into one Menu. That interface is controllable by an included remote control, the Apple Remote, or the keyboard and mouse. You can also use this Menu full screen, controlling from a distance, or in a windowed mode, controlling EyeTV Lite while you do other things on your Mac.

EyeTV Lite has the same great image quality as the full version of EyeTV, and has all the controls you need to watch and manipulate video. Closed Captions, DVB subtitles, and simple Teletext are included.

The full version of EyeTV has many more features, including a classic and easy-to-use interface, a two-week text search of the program guide, playlists, favorite channels lists, full management of your recordings schedule, an easy-to-use editor to remove unwanted content or create clips, uncomplicated export to all important file formats, and full integration with Roxio’s Toast software for automatic VCD/DVD burning.

All EyeTV Lite users are welcome to upgrade to the full version of EyeTV, at a special price. Just select “Upgrade to EyeTV” from the Help menu in EyeTV Lite for more details.

EyeTV Lite is designed to only work with a few hardware units (the ones that it is bundled with), while the full version of EyeTV works with a long list of compatible hardware.
