Turn Stealth Mode off in OS X Firewall when using EyeTV for iPad
Solution Some OS X Firewall settings can cause EyeTV for iPad to not connect to your Mac running EyeTV.

Specifically, if you enable Stealth Mode in the System Preferences > Security > Firewall > Advanced section, then EyeTV for iPad will not connect properly.

Instead of seeing Live TV, Recordings, Schedules and your Program Guide from your Mac, you may see a black screen.

The solution is to turn Stealth Mode off:

Instructions for OS X 10.6:

1) Open the System Preferences
2) Visit the Security section
3) Visit the Firewall Section
4) Turn the Firewall On (if it's not already on)
5) Press the Advanced.... button
6) Turn off Enable Stealth Mode

Instructions for OS X 10.5:

1) Open the System Preferences
2) Visit the Security section
3) Visit the Firewall Section
4) Select Set access for specific services and applications
5) Press the Advanced.... button
6) Turn off Enable Stealth Mode

EyeTV for iPhone is not affected by this setting - it will work if Stealth Mode is turned on.

Our engineers are looking into this issue, to find out what's causing this unusual issue with EyeTV for iPad.
