EyeTV Netstream Sat - General

The General section of the web interface for EyeTV Netstream Sat shows a number of pieces of information, including:

• Language (choices are English, French, German and Japanese)
• Device Name (default is "EyeTV Netstream Sat")
• PIN
• Bonjour Name
• Serial Number
• Firmware Version (with the option for a potential future Update...)
• Hardware Version

Since all EyeTV Netstream Sat units have the same default PIN - 0000 (all zeroes) - you should take the time to use the Change PIN command. Choose 4 numbers as your new PIN, confirm that choice, then press OK.

EyeTV Netstream Sat - Channels

The Channels section of the web interface for EyeTV Netstream Sat shows the result of the most recent Auto-Tune. These channels are stored in the EyeTV Netstream Sat, and are reported to EyeTV or any other client software.

The Download m3u file button exports the channel list in a form that some other clients can use, like VLC. That allows other applications to control the EyeTV Netstream Sat, even if they're not officially supported - this can be helpful for Linux users, for example.

EyeTV Netstream Sat - Network

The Network section of the web interface for EyeTV Netstream Sat allows the configuration of the network connection, specifically the various IP addresses. The two choices are DHCP (automatic detection of IP address, from a router or other device), and Manual.

The MAC Address cannot be changed - it's hard coded into each EyeTV Netstream Sat for identification purposes.

The Install section of the web interface for EyeTV Netstream Sat gives helpful installation tips, and links to websites useful for Mac OS X, Windows or Linux users.

If you want to use EyeTV Netstream Sat with Linux, first use it with either Mac or Windows software to populate the channel list. Afterwards EyeTV Netstream Sat can be accessed by media player software that supports m3u playlist files and can play TV content.
