 How do I connect EyeTV Netstream to an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch?
Solution EyeTV for iOS can connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to an EyeTV Netstream Sat or EyeTV Netstream DTT in a few ways.



Direct connection from EyeTV for iOS to EyeTV Netstream



After you download EyeTV for iOS from the iTunes Store, it is automatically ready to detect any EyeTV Netstream device that's on your local network.

It doesn't matter if you have Macs using OS X, or PCs using Windows 7 - the connection will go directly from the EyeTV Netstream to EyeTV for iOS.

Please Note:

When connected directly to EyeTV Netstream, EyeTV for iOS will only be able to play back MPEG-2 video in SDTV format.  It will not be able to play MPEG-4 or H.264, or any HDTV content.

EyeTV Netstream DTT always needs to be set up at least once with OS X or Windows 7, to Auto Tune or Scan for channels. 

EyeTV Netstream Sat can download a channel list by itself, so it's not required that you use OS X or Windows 7 to Auto Tune or Scan for channels. However, you may want to do so if the downloaded list is incomplete.



Direct connection from EyeTV for OS X to EyeTV for iOS



EyeTV for OS X can send video to EyeTV for iOS.  That video can come from any EyeTV 3 compatible hardware, including EyeTV Netstream.

Please Note:

When connected directly to EyeTV Netstream, EyeTV for iOS will be able to play back MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and H.264 video, in SDTV or HDTV format.  HDTV playback requires a Mac that meets certain specifications.

EyeTV Netstream DTT always needs to be set up at least once with EyeTV for OS X, to Auto Tune for channels.

Direct connection from Windows 7 to EyeTV for iOS



Windows 7 cannot send video to EyeTV for iOS.  

Windows Media Center, Terratec Home Cinema, and all other Windows 7 applications cannot send video to EyeTV for iOS.
