Getting started with EyeTV Netstream app for iOS
Solution Using the EyeTV Netstream app on your iPhone or iPad involves a few simple steps.

Step 1: Purchase EyeTV Netstream Hardware

Currently, there are two EyeTV Netstream hardware products:

1) EyeTV Netstream DTT:  This can receive digital TV over antenna/aerial, in the DVB-T (DTT) format.

2) EyeTV Netstream Sat: This can receive digital TV over satellite, in the DVB-S and DVB-S2 formats.

When you purchase EyeTV Netstream hardware, a copy of EyeTV software for your Mac is included in the box.  Currently, EyeTV 3 software is distributed with EyeTV Netstream hardware.

A copy of TerraTec Home Cinema (THC) is also included in the box, for use with Windows 7.

Step 2: Setup EyeTV Netstream via Computer

If you are using a Mac, then the EyeTV 3 software Setup Assistant will walk you through the necessary steps to set everything up.

If you are using Windows 7, then TerraTec Home Cinema (THC) will walk you through the necessary steps to set everything up.

What is true for every EyeTV Netstream hardware device is that it has to be connected to a separate video source, that you provide.

Some examples of video sources are:

1) EyeTV Netstream DTT:  Connect it to an antenna/aerial, either the one included in the box, or another one of your choosing.

2) EyeTV Netstream Sat: Connect it to your satellite LNB via a coaxial cable (not included).

You will need to purchase an antenna, rent satellite service, or otherwise bring an active video source to EyeTV.

Step 3: Connect EyeTV Netstream to a Network

You will need to connect your Mac to a network (usually a home network), using Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or both.  That is necessary during the setup process, which will give your EyeTV Netstream hardware access to your video source and channels.

You will also need to connect EyeTV Netstream to your home network, or your Mac, using an Ethernet cable.

In this way, EyeTV Netstream will be able to send data to your iPad or iPhone, via a Wi-Fi connection.

The EyeTV Netstream hardware can send video directly to the EyeTV Netstream app.  However, only MPEG-2 Standard Definition content can be played.

Step 4: Purchase EyeTV Netstream app from the iTunes App Store

The EyeTV Netstream app is Universal, and without any cost - you only need to download it once, and it will have a different interface depending on if you are using it on an iPhone or iPad.

You can install your single copy on multiple devices, as per Apple's policies.

After you download it, install it on your iPhone or iPad via iTunes, or the App Store on your device.

The EyeTV Netstream app is designed for iPod touch (4th generation or later), iPhone (iPhone 4 or later) and iPad and requires iOS 4.3.5 or newer. TV streaming is not supported outside the local network. 802.11n Wi-Fi is recommended.
