How do I update the Firmware of the Netstream Sat/DTT?
Solution
Please follow the ensuing steps to update the firmware on your
EyeTV Netstream Sat/DTT
:
Firmware Update on the Mac
1) Start
Safari
2) Please download the newest version of the
EyeTV Netstream
Firmware here:
http://www.elgato.com/elgato/int/mainmenu/support/Update-Start/EyeTV-Netstream-firmware.en.html
3) Unpack the zipped file so that you have a file with the ".update" suffix
4) In
Safari
click on the
Show All Bookmarks
button and then select
Bonjour
5) Doubleclick on the entry
"EyeTV Netstream Sat #…"
6) Once the web interface has been opened, select the tab labelled
General
7) Click on the
Lock
symbol in the upper right hand corner and enter your
PIN
number
8) Then click on
Update:
9) In the
Open
dialog navigate to the downloaded firmware update and then click on
Choose.
10) Please follow the instructions to finish the firmware update and wait until the
EyeTV Netstream
device has restarted.
Firmware Update in
Windows
1) Start your web browser.
2) Please download the newest version of the
EyeTV Netstream
firmware here:
http://www.elgato.com/elgato/int/mainmenu/support/Update-Start/EyeTV-Netstream-firmware.en.html
3) Unpack the zipped file so that you have a file with the ".update" suffix
4) Open
Windows Explorer
by clicking on the folder symbol of the task bar:
5) Go to
Network> Media Devices
and double click on the
EyeTV Netstream Sat/DTT
icon. The web interface will open in your preferred browser.
6) Once the web interface has been opened, select the tab labelled
General
7) Click on the
Lock
symbol in the upper right hand corner and enter your
PIN
number
8) Click on the
Update
button
9) In the
Open
dialog navigate to the downloaded firmware update and then click on
Open.
10) Please follow the instructions to finish the firmware update and wait until the
EyeTV Netstream
device has restarted.
Hints:
If you are using
Internet Explorer 9
and higher please activate the
Compatibility Mode
to see the web interface.
If you are using Internet Explorer and encounter a gray page in the
Fullscreen Mode
please switch to the
Windows Mode
and change the size of the window in order to see the content of the web interface. This issue has been resolved in
Firmware 1.1.2
and higher.
