Can the Elgato Thunderbolt™ SSD work with Boot Camp and Windows 7?
Solution Elgato Thunderbolt™ SSD can work with Boot Camp on a Mac, with a few important exceptions.

Windows 7 is the minimum OS requirement
Elgato Thunderbolt™ SSD must be plugged into your Mac before you start the Boot Camp session.

Setting up Elgato Thunderbolt™ SSD for a Boot Camp Session

Elgato Thunderbolt™ SSD needs to be detected by Boot Camp and Windows 7 during boot, or else it won't work at all for that Windows 7 session.

Once Elgato Thunderbolt™ SSD is detected by Boot Camp and Windows 7 during the boot process, you can mount and unmount the drive as many times as you like during that session.  However, if you start a new Boot Camp session, you'll need to plug Elgato Thunderbolt™ SSD before the boot process starts.

Elgato Thunderbolt™ SSD Speed in Windows 7

Thunderbolt™ drives like Elgato Thunderbolt™ SSD can operate in Windows 7, but Thunderbolt™ hard drive support in Windows 7 is not yet fully optimized.

This means that Elgato Thunderbolt™ SSD, or any Thunderbolt™ drive from other manufacturers, will not yet reach their maximum potential speed in Windows 7.  Elgato Thunderbolt™ SSD will on average have much faster speeds under OS X, at least for the time being.
