My MPEG-4 video is out of sync during playback in EyeHome
Solution EyeHome has a hardware decoder that can play many formats. However, some formats are easier for it to handle than others.

When it comes to MPEG-4 video, some audio tracks will work better.

MP2 (MPEG-1 layer 2) or MP3 (MPEG-1 layer 3) will work well with MPEG-4 video.

AAC (MPEG-4 audio) will not work well with MPEG-4 video. This is because the AAC audio needs to be changed to WAV for use with EyeHome, and the simultaneous decoding overhead for MPEG-4 and WAV is too great in some circumstances, causing things to be out of sync.

So, if you have MPEG-4 or DivX files that use AAC/MP4 audio, which are out of sync, then consider re-encoding them using MP2/MP3 audio.

Products like EyeTV 200 encode to MPEG-4 with MP2 audio, so there shouldn't be a problem with those recordings.

We apologize for this problem, and if adjustments are possible in this area, we'll make then as soon as we can.
