Like the EyeTV DTT Deluxe, the EyeTV 250 Plus INT (International) has a digital tuner capable of receiving DVB-T signals.

In
addition, the EyeTV 250 Plus INT can receive analog signals, and
contains a powerful hardware encoder for high quality analog recording,
or digitizing video from analog sources such as VHS tapes or camcorders.

The
EyeTV 250 Plus INT can receive analog TV signals from antenna, or cable
services via the coaxial connector, or from composite/S-Video sources
via the analog break-out cable.

The EyeTV 250 Plus INT is
physically larger than the EyeTV for DTT stick, and requires the use of
an external power supply (included).

Antenna/aerial provided with some DVB-T products contains a magnet

http://support.elgato.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=1085

Some EyeTV hardware like EyeTV Hybrid, EyeTV DTT Deluxe or EyeTV for DTT stick are bundled with a rod antenna/aerial with a magnetic base.

Please leave sufficient space between the antenna and any equipment which is affected by electromagnetic fields (such as a portable computer, a disk drive, a magnetic card, etc.). Elgato Systems is not liable for damages caused by improper usage of this product.

The product's rod antenna was developed to provide reliable signal quality, even under conditions unfavorable for reception. It might be necessary in some cases to use an active antenna or a roof antenna - instead of the rod antenna - if there is an insufficient number of transmitters or if the nearest transmitter is too far away.

The electromagnetic field emitted by the base can interfere with pacemakers. In general, a distance of at least 20 centimeters should be maintained between the magnet and your pacemaker. If you feel the antenna's magnetic base interferes with your pacemaker, please move away from the antenna. Please discuss this matter with your doctor.

There are several HDTV formats that EyeTV products can support:

HDTV over Antenna (ATSC) in North America

EyeTV 250 Plus
EyeTV Hybrid
EyeTV One
EyeTV 500
TVMini HD
HDHomeRun
Any ATSC product that supports EyeTV

HDTV over Antenna (DTT/Freeview/DVB-T) for International Users

EyeTV 250 Plus INT
EyeTV Hybrid INT
EyeTV Hybrid INT (2008 model)
EyeTV Diversity
EyeTV for DTT
EyeTV DTT Deluxe
EyeTV 410
FireDTV T/CI
Any DVB-T product that supports EyeTV

HDTV over unencrypted digital cable (Clear QAM) in North America

EyeTV 250 Plus (2008 model)
EyeTV 500
EyeTV Hybrid (2008 model)
EyeTV Hybrid (2009 model)
HDHomeRun
TVMini HD
Any Clear QAM product that supports EyeTV

HDTV over unencrypted digital cable (DVB-C) for International Users

EyeTV Hybrid INT (2008 model)
EyeTV 610
FireDTV C/CI
Any DVB-C product that supports EyeTV

HDTV over satellite (DVB-S/S2) for International Users

EyeTV Sat
EyeTV 310
FireDTV S2
Any DVB-S/2S product that supports EyeTV

HDTV over Component

EyeTV HD
Hauppauge HD PVR

The International standard used to broadcast HDTV in MPEG-4 AVC and H.264 is supported as of EyeTV 2.5.

Please
note that Clear QAM represents only a few, random channels out of
hundreds of digital cable channels. There is no guarantee that you will
receive any one channel, or even any channels, when using a Clear QAM
tuner with your particular cable service. Clear QAM support does work,
but it will not replicate your full cable lineup.

ATSC and Clear QAM are formats primarily used in North America, and not in Europe or Australia.

Two EyeTV compatible products can receive HDTV from an external receiver, like a
cable box or satellite receiver. One is the Hauppauge HD
PVR - with EyeTV 3.1 or higher, it can work and receive HDTV
from component cables. The EyeTV HD, used with EyeTV 3.4 or higher software, also receives HDTV from a cable box or satellite receiver via component cables.

EyeTV
products with analog inputs can receive standard and premium channels
from a cable box or satellite receiver, in SDTV format.

To play
full resolution HDTV, you need any Core Duo Mac, a Core 2 Duo Mac, or a
Dual G5. A slower Mac will play the recording, but scaled down from
HDTV resolution to 1/4 resolution (similar to DVD quality).
